Excellent

Dara was a great sounding board for me when my mother was at the end of life. She was living in an assisted living facility but had recently had a change in her health and transitioned to a hospice house. She really helped me recognize that my mother was dying when others had told me she had more time.  She also helped me and my mother be more at peace with what we were experiencing.  In the time she spent with my mother, she provided relaxing music, candles and reassuring words to help minimize fear or distress. It was so nice to have someone to be with me as I helped my mother spend her final days.

Highly Recommended

My dear friend had been experiencing significant decline for several months. Dara helped us get connected with hospice and helped us figure out how to deal with the all the transitions that came with his end of life experience – hospitalizations, moving into a nursing home and then a hospice house.   Dara was with us every step of the way as we figured out each level of care at the end of his life.  She was a wonderful advocate for making sure the staff were aware of his end of life wishes and advanced care directives.  At the very end, she visited daily, watching over him and making sure the environment was as quiet and comfortable as possible. It was a lifesaver to have someone helping us along the way.

Outstanding

I met Dara at a social event. She was very attentive to my husband’s needs throughout the evening.  When I learned she was a death doula, she agreed to help my husband put some plans in place for his end of life. She reviewed documents, had conversations to discuss what his wishes were and made sure they were clearly communicated in written form. But in addition to that, she took the time to get to know my husband. She spent the next few months making routine visits to keep him company and take him on outings to get him out of the house. She even took him golfing, which he hadn’t done in years.
